Taiheiyo awards 3rd batch of scholars

TWELVE valedictorians and graduates with honors who finished elementary last March from San Fernando’s public school system have earned a scholarship for their secondary education from Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI).

Company officials formally granted the scholarship to the 2007 batch in simple ceremonies at the conference room of the company’s administration building at the TCPI plant complex in South Poblacion, San Fernando.

Taiheiyo awards San Fernando top students

TAIHEIYO Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) awarded over 2,000 youths in San Fernando for graduating from the public school system with the hope that they will be encouraged to continue seeking for higher education.

The company gave out the medals to the graduates in both elementary and high schools in the town’s 21 barangays, according to Esther Cola, TCPI manager for human resources and administration. Continue reading

TCPI commits to build schools Agreement cover donation to Cebu Province

TAIHEIYO Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) has committed to help the Cebu Provincial Government build 900 new elementary school buildings and 200 new high school buildings throughout the province.

Toshio Komatsu, TCPI president and chief executive officer, signed with Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn F. Garcia and Vice Gov. Gregorio G. Sanchez, Jr. a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the project in simple ceremonies at the TCPI penthouse at its compound in San Fernando last Feb. 14 that sealed the collaboration.

Cement companies help rebuild lives of landslide victims

When a landslide devastated the farming village of Guinsaugon in St. Bernard,  Southern Leyte,  local and international groups wasted no time responding to the immediate needs of the thousands of affected residents.

Among those who were quick to launch relief operations were members of the Cement Manufacturers’ Association of the Philippines (CeMAP).  Under their individual corporate social responsibility programs,  Cemex Philippines,  Holcim Philippines and Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. offered much-needed support to thousands who were left homeless by the sea of mud that virtually wiped out the village.
