Fair Trade Advocate, Distinguished DTI/DA Official named CeMAP President

Ernesto M. Ordoñez has been named President of the Cement Manufacturer’s Association of the Philippines (CeMAP), CeMAP Chairperson Renato C. Sunico announced yesterday.

Ordoñez, who is known for his staunch advocacy of pro-Filipino industry, agriculture, and fair trade issues, replaces Felix Enrico R. Alfiler, who has resigned to join his family in the US.

CeMAP’s Ordoñez is new AFCM vice president

Dr. Ernesto M. Ordoñez, president of Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CeMAP), was elected vice president of the Asean Federation of Cement Manufacturers (AFCM) during the 14th AFCM Conference held recently in Singapore.

Ordoñez will serve as vice president for two years, after which, following tradition, he is expected to be elected as AFCM president for another two years when the federation holds its 15th conference in Vietnam late in 2007.
