Sunico is CeMAP Chair

(Phil. Star, February 26, 2005)

Renato C. Sunico was voted chair of the Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines during the association’s last board meeting in December 2004.

With over twenty years of work in the local cement industry, Sunico will no doubt bring CEMAP a wealth of knowledge and experience to a progressive industry, now counted as one of the Philippines’ most hopeful.

Of his election Sunico says, “It is a privilege to be allowed to serve the industry that is now my life’s work. In this new capacity, I hope to bring cement to another level of Filipino consciousness – that of a world-class product we can all be proud of.”

Sunico graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Philippines and Masters in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management before joining Amon Trading Corporation as Vice President and Treasurer in 1973, from which he joined Republic Cement Corporation.

Today, Sunico is concurrently the chair of Fortune Cement Corporation, Mindanao Portland Cement Corporation and Makati Skyline, Inc., President of Iligan Cement Corporation, President and Director of SEACEM Holdings, Inc. and Director of FR Cement Corp., Republic Cement Corp., Amon Trading and Luzon Continental Land Corp.

Sunico is also past president of the Rotary Club of Pasay and a life member of the Financial Executive Institute of the Philippines.
