MAJOR infrastructure projects in the Visayas and Mindanao have been built exclusively using the New Grand Portland Cement manufactured by Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) in San Fernando, Cebu.

Among those now being used by the public is the New Bacolod-Silay Airport in Silay City, Negros Occidental that started operations only last Jan. 18, disclosed George Uy, marketing senior manager of TCPI.

The same was true with the new Iloilo International Airport straddling the towns of Sta. Barbara and Cabatuan in Iloilo that opened last June 13, he added.

“From the terminal building, roads, parking lots and perimeter fence, to the control tower, the tarmac and the runway, and everything else built on concrete, these are all made using only Taiheiyo Cement Phils. products”, Uy declared.

Uy said the use of the New Grand Portland Cement at the new airports in Western Visayas (particularly Bacolod & Iloilo cities) that were built under international standards is a testament on the reliability and high quality standards of TCPI’s products.

Several major infrastructure projects in Cebu are also built using exclusively New Grand Portland Cement, including the Subway now underway underneath Plaza Independencia that connects northern Metro Cebu to the vast lands of South Road Properties (SRP).

Several high-rise buildings in Cebu City have been built with TCPI-produced cement products. Among them the Globe-Innove Plaza, Pag-Ibig Fund*WT Corporate Tower, Park Towers 1 & 2 and the new Cebu Doctors’ University.
