A. THE PUBLIC POLICY AND LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE

 

A.1 GROWTH CONCERNS

Identifies and responds to threats to growth and opportunities to enhance growth of the industry

      • Address power concerns
      • Prevent unfair competition; ensure level playing field
      • Maximize share of cement in the present market
      • Create new markets
      • Obtain useful information on national cement scenarios
      • Obtain useful information on global cement scenarios

    A.2 LEGISLATIVE CONCERNS

    The monitoring of legislations and prescription of appropriate responses of CeMAP to these legislations which affect the cement industry.

        • Information gathering on government actions affecting the industry

     

    B.   THE EXTERNAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE

    The External Relations Committee addresses public relations issues of the industry to enhance its competitiveness and promote its image as a partner of government and the private sector for progress and development.

        • Relationship building
        • Promotion of fair trade
        • Support for objectives of other committees
        • Image building

     

    C. THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

    The Sustainable Committee promotes sustainable development initiatives to improve the operations of the members of CeMAP in to protect and enhance the environment and the health and safety of all cement stakeholders.

        • Set up government and non-government organizations support
        • Enhance CeMAP members operations in the observation of global campaign of reducing emissions
        • Promotion of the best management practices and the safety and protection of CeMAP employees and customers

     

    D. THE TECHNICAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE

    The Technical Standards Committee addresses issues on the standards of cement and promotes the improvement of cement production operations

        • Product standards review and development
        • Promotion of blended cement
        • Continuous engagement in initiatives that will maintain and improve the production of high quality of cement in the country
        • Work with GOs and NGOs to ensure consumer safety and protection
