CEMENT TESTING CENTER

The Cement Testing Center (CTC) is the Philippine’s best in class testing facility for cement products and cement raw materials, using ASTM reference methods in conducting Physical/Mechanical and Chemical analysis of Portland, Blended and Masonry cements, as well as raw materials like Pozzolan, Fly Ash and Slag.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

With Health and Safety as a top priority of the organization, all employees are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment and work areas are equipped with facilities to control hazards. A Health and Safety Committee, headed by a Safety Officer, implements programs and projects to promote Health and Safety among CTC personnel. Health and Safety incidents are promptly reported and discussed to determine the root cause of the incident and to formulate corrective measures.

LABORATORY QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM

CTC guarantees valid and accurate results through its quality control checks, validation and verification of test methods, use of Standard Reference Materials (SRMs) and use of properly maintained and calibrated test and measuring equipment. It follows the required specification of the test method and uses alternative methods for verification of results. The accuracy of results reported is checked and reviewed, prior approval for release. Testing groups participate in intralaboratory and interlaboratory comparisons, and proficiency testing activities on a regular basis.

PURCHASING AND SUPPLIES MANAGEMENT

CTC ensures that all purchased equipment, materials and test supplies received comply with the requirements of the end-users. It has regular inventory of supplies to monitor count and expiration. Chemicals are kept in rooms that follow the required temperature and humidity condition, as well as Philippine National Police’s storage security requirement for its controlled chemicals. CTC also identifies stock alert levels of its routine supplies to ensure availability whenever needed. It keeps a list of approved suppliers/contractors of services that is annually reviewed based on the set criteria.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

CeMAP is committed to the protection of the environment. The CeMAP Pollution Control Officer leads the implementation of proper management practices for all aspects of handling, storage and disposal of solid and chemical wastes to meet the statutory and regulatory requirements. Moreover, CeMAP promotes awareness on recycling, re-use and reduction of wastes.
