MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the 8th meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council Infrastructure Sector Group at Malacañang on Wednesday.
According to the Palace, the meeting focused on concrete measures to strengthen the country’s infrastructure resilience and water security.
This includes the enforcement of higher standards for buildings and construction materials to improve disaster preparedness, flood management, and water infrastructure.
Among the proposed actions are the clearing of the Manggahan Floodway, the construction of the Parañaque Spillway, and advancing measures to improve drought preparedness and streamline processes to accelerate critical water infrastructure projects.
“The discussions reflect the administration’s continued commitment to working with the private sector to deliver safer, more resilient, and future-ready infrastructure that protects communities and strengthens the country’s capacity to withstand disasters and climate-related risks,” the Palace said.
