The Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CeMAP) successfully concluded its first-ever Safety Month celebration. This landmark initiative highlights the critical significance of health and safety in our workplace.
Setting the Foundation: The Opening Ceremony
The event kicked off with an inspiring opening ceremony. It was graced by CeMAP President Mr. Renier Dizon and Chairperson Mr. Roberto Martin Javier. In a historic first for the association, leadership and staff united to establish a safer working environment.
Key highlights of the launch included:
- Slogan & Logo Reveal: Launch of the winning official slogan, “READY, SET, SAFE!”, alongside the new Safety Logo.
- Policy Signing: Presentation of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Policy, followed by a company-wide signing to pledge individual and collective commitment.
- Emergency Readiness: Detailed presentation of Emergency Protocols and the introduction of the “Call Tree” notification system for rapid crisis communication.
The day concluded with action and camaraderie through a site-wide clean-up drive, a commemorative photobooth, and interactive, safety-themed games.
Month-Long Activities and Team Building
Throughout June, CeMAP engaged employees in targeted safety education and community-building exercises:
- Electrical Safety Seminar & Audit (June 17, 2026): Facilitated by Concreat Holdings Philippines Inc. (CHP) through Mr. Ralph Gerald C. Ambrosio and Mr. Marc Lester Verdaguer (DOLE Accredited: OSH Practitioner and Trainer) to enhance electrical hazard awareness and workplace compliance.
- Bowling Tournament (June 19, 2026): Held at Eastwood City Mall, Libis, Q.C., providing a fun, competitive space to foster team spirit and wellness.
- Hazards and Risk Assessment (June 26, 2026): A practical, hands-on review to identify and mitigate potential workplace risks.
Closing Ceremony
The celebration wrapped up on June 30, 2026, with a vibrant Closing Ceremony. The event looked back at the month’s finest highlights and recognized the creative mind behind the official safety logo. The afternoon concluded with an awarding ceremony celebrating the winners of the various safety month competitions.
