72nd ACPAC Conference Highlights Taiwan | July 23–24, 2026

The Cement Manufacturers’ Association of the Philippines (CeMAP) participated in the 72nd ACPAC Conference Meeting held in Taiwan on July 23–24, 2026 hosted by the Taiwan Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), bringing together cement industry leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss market developments, industry challenges, and sustainability initiatives.

The Philippines was represented by CeMAP President John Reinier Dizon and CeMAP Executive Director Renato Baja. During the conference, Mr. Dizon presented the Philippine Country Report, providing delegates with an overview of the country’s cement industry, current market conditions, and key developments. A major highlight of his presentation was the Philippine Cement Decarbonization Roadmap, which outlines the industry’s strategic pathway toward achieving lower carbon emissions while supporting the country’s infrastructure and economic growth objectives.

The country reports revealed that many ACPAC member economies are facing similar market challenges. Among the most pressing concerns discussed was the increasing volume of imported cement, which continues to place significant pressure on domestic manufacturers in several countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, and Taiwan.

Delegates exchanged insights on how their respective industries are addressing these challenges while maintaining competitiveness and ensuring the long-term sustainability of local cement manufacturing.

The second day of the conference featured a visit to the Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC) cement plant. Delegates had the opportunity to observe the company’s modern manufacturing processes, operational best practices, and sustainability initiatives, providing valuable insights into Taiwan’s advanced cement production technologies.

The conference concluded with a warm fellowship dinner graciously hosted by Taiwan Cement Corporation and TCMA at its cement plant. The sumptuous dinner provided an excellent opportunity for delegates to strengthen professional relationships, exchange ideas, and reinforce regional cooperation among ACPAC member countries.

The 72nd ACPAC Conference once again underscored the importance of regional collaboration in addressing shared industry challenges and advancing sustainability initiatives. For CeMAP, the event provided a valuable platform to showcase the Philippine cement industry’s progress, particularly its commitment to decarbonization, while learning from the experiences and best practices of neighboring countries.
